The Bachelor of Science in Chemistry equips students for professional roles in industry or advanced studies in chemistry, medicine, dentistry, or law. This program strongly emphasizes hands-on laboratory experience and fundamental scientific concepts within industry-relevant chemistry fields. Graduates with a B.S. in Chemistry are prepared to work as professional chemists, exploring the composition, structure, properties, and transformations of matter. The discipline primarily examines atomic and molecular interactions and changes. As a pivotal science, chemistry connects other fields like physics and biology while serving as the cornerstone for scientific and engineering advancements that enhance human life.

The Law, Technology and Culture (LTC) program serves as NJIT's pre-law track, offering an interdisciplinary approach to legal studies that integrates traditional pre-law education with the convergence of science, technology, and law. The LTC program features a robust 21-credit interdisciplinary core curriculum covering legal studies across history, philosophy, social sciences, engineering, information technology, management, and science/technology/society. Unique aspects of the curriculum enable students to specialize in legal intersections with technology, media, environmental issues, healthcare, and cultural studies.

Qualification Requirements

All first-year students who apply to NJIT must submit an official high school transcript in English. When evaluating your application for undergraduate admission, we are interested in understanding how you challenged yourself relative to the curriculum that was available at your school and the trends in your performance-especially your grades in math, science and English.
Your completed coursework should include English Composition, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Chemistry and Physics. We also consider the GPA (Grade Point Average) that is indicated on your high school transcript. We generally look for students in the top 25% of their class. For schools that don't use a ranking system, we consider a 3.0 GPA or higher to be the equivalent. Official High School/Secondary School Transcript in English or a Notarized Copy, IELTS - 6, TOEFL IBT-79, PBT-550 , TOEFL computer-based -213, Duolingo - 100
