The Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program is designed for nurses who already hold a bachelor's degree. Aligned with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing's Essentials of Master's Education for Advanced Practice Nurses, this graduate program equips students for leadership positions within their chosen specialization. A master's degree represents the ideal educational level for nurses pursuing advanced clinical roles as healthcare providers and coordinators. Participants must select and complete one of the specialized tracks outlined in the University's catalog.
National University's Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) program, including both the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializations, holds accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Additionally, the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) specializations within the MSN program have received approval from the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
Earning a Master of Science in Nursing degree requires successful completion of 87-89 quarter units at the graduate level.
