The Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) program equips students with essential skills for entering or advancing in the electronics industry. Alongside foundational subjects like components and circuits, the curriculum covers specialized topics such as microcontroller systems, communication technologies, and industrial control systems. Most labs feature modern equipment to ensure practical, hands-on training opportunities.
Graduates of ECET degree and certificate programs gain diverse technical competencies for various roles. Common career paths include field service engineer, computer support technician, customer support specialist, communications specialist, maintenance specialist, and electronics specialist. Those earning an A.S. degree qualify for automatic certification as a 3rd class technician from the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers (N.A.R.T.E.) without additional testing. No prior requirements or enrollment restrictions apply.
