The A.S. Biology program provides students with a versatile pathway to obtain an Associate degree in Biology. Following a foundational year of general biology coursework, students select from three specialized tracks: biodiversity, cell and molecular biology, or pre-health professions, each requiring three additional biology courses aligned with these focus areas. The biodiversity concentration caters to those passionate about ecology, field studies, zoology, plant sciences, and related disciplines. The cell and molecular biology path suits students drawn to genetics, cellular processes, biochemistry, and molecular studies. The pre-health professions option prepares students for careers in medical, dental, or veterinary fields. This degree can ease the transition to bachelor's programs in biology and often supports transfer into more specific majors like Botany, Ecology, Environmental Science, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or Zoology. Prospective transfer students should consult with an academic advisor.
