The Master of Arts in Psychological Sciences serves as a foundational graduate degree, equipping students for higher-level studies across various psychology disciplines including developmental, experimental, learning, personality, counseling, school, and social psychology. In addition to the Psychology (MA) program, the department provides these graduate study options: Psychological Sciences (Combined BA/MA), Industrial and Organizational Psychology (MA), Family/Civil Forensic Psychology (Certificate), and Criminal Forensic Psychology (Certificate).

Qualification Requirements

The Graduate School requires the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor's degree in order to be eligible to apply for a graduate program. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree in psychology or a minimum of 12 undergraduate credits in psychology, including a course in statistics and a laboratory experimental course. Please note: an introductory course in psychology does not count toward the minimum credit requirement, though it might be needed as a pre-requisite to other psychology courses
Transcript: One from each college attended.
Letters of Recommendation: Two.
Standardized Test Scores: GRE (see test waiver policies). Fall 2020 applicants only the GRE will be waived for applicants with 3.3 undergraduate GPA or better.

A minimum TOEFL score of at least 83 on the internet-based test (iBT) or 62 on the paper-based test (pBT).
For IELTS test takers, the minimum required score is 6.5.
