The French graduate program equips students for careers in language and literature research and instruction. Earning a Master of Arts enables graduates to teach at community colleges and high schools while building a strong base for those pursuing a PhD. French graduate studies also enhance career prospects in government and industries connected to Francophone regions. International study options and financial aid are accessible. In addition to French Studies, the Graduate School provides these programs: Professional French Translation Concentration (MA), Professional French Translation (Certificate), Teaching (MAT) with French Certification, Teaching (MAT) with Dual Certification in French and Special Education, Combined Bachelor's/Master of Arts in Teaching French, and Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification in French.

Qualification Requirements
Admission is open to students who hold a bachelor's degree and have completed at least 24 semester hours of undergraduate French or its equivalent. Students applying for admission must satisfy the standard University requirements for admission to graduate study. Individuals holding the bachelor's degree and showing an adequate proficiency in French may enroll in graduate courses, even though they do not wish to enter the Master of Arts program.
