Montclair State University's Counseling programs equip students with multicultural competence for diverse professional environments. The curriculum trains future counselors to serve varied populations across K-12 schools, community organizations, higher education student affairs departments, and addiction treatment centers. Coursework aligns with state licensing and certification standards. The Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Certificate program meets all educational prerequisites specified by New Jersey's Addiction Professionals Certification Board (APCBNJ) for CADC qualification. Students also have the option to simultaneously pursue admission to the MA in Counseling program.
