The Mathematics Department at Montclair State University fosters an inclusive learning environment where students discover mathematics' significance, elegance, and real-world applications. General Education requires 42 credits, plus 3-9 credits in World Languages and Cultures.
Prospective Elementary Education (K-6) candidates must gain admission to the Teacher Education Program. The bachelor's degree requires 120 credits with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA, while major-specific GPA standards vary. Detailed guidelines are available in the Teacher Education Program Handbook.
