The Montana Dietetic Internship provides a Master of Science in Dietetic Systems Leadership combined with a Dietetic Internship (MS/DI) pathway. Over two years, participants will graduate with an MS degree and receive certification eligibility for the Dietitian Registration Exam.
All students in the Montana Dietetic Internship gain extensive practical training through a 40-week program featuring 1,315 hours of supervised practice. Interns are placed in one of eight regions across Montana or Wyoming, with Montana options including Billings, Butte, Great Falls, Helena, Kalispell, and Missoula, plus Wyoming locations in Sheridan and Gillette. Applicants may prioritize their preferred locations during the selection process.
To be considered for admission to the MS/DI track the following degree, statements and certifications are necessary. Transcript(s) and a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Verification Statement (or declaration of intent) are also required for the application process. Proof of a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and/or dietetics from an ACEND accredited program in nutrition and/or dietetics and/or related major from an accredited college or university is needed. Proof of earned degree will be provided by a final transcript. (Alternatively, prospective students may have earned a bachelor’s degree in an unrelated field but completed post-baccalaureate didactic coursework in dietetics from an accredited college or university.) An undergraduate GPA of at least 3.00 (on a 4.00 scale). Applicants with post-baccalaureate experience must have a graduate GPA of at least 3.00.
