Doctoral candidates must complete a minimum of 60 graduate-level credits after earning their bachelor's degree, which includes no fewer than 18 dissertation credits. To advance through the program, students are required to successfully complete these key assessments:
A written Graduate Study Qualifying Examination conducted by the department, which all Ph.D. candidates must take during their initial two semesters in the program.
A comprehensive assessment to be completed within two years of passing the qualifying exam, after finishing approximately two-thirds of their required coursework.
A concluding oral examination along with a defense of their original research dissertation.
For the Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, students need to earn at least 60 post-baccalaureate credits. Those entering with a Master's degree may transfer up to 24 graded credits toward this requirement.
A bachelor's degree (or higher) or the equivalent from an accredited, government-recognized university. These degrees are generally four-year-long programs. B average or higher from your undergraduate study (3.0/4.0 GPA, or equivalent).
