Professionals in the photonics field handle products and devices that serve numerous sectors, such as manufacturing, communications, defense, homeland security, healthcare, IT, energy, environmental monitoring, lighting, displays, entertainment, and beyond. At Gallatin College MSU's Photonics & Laser Technology program, learners begin with a core curriculum in electronics before incorporating photonics and optics into their coursework. In addition to building a solid electronics foundation, students dedicate over 40% of their time to hands-on lab work, practicing with various industrial lasers and optical systems to smoothly enter the photonics workforce.
This Photonics & Laser Technology program is offered by Gallatin College MSU, the two-year college serving southwest Montana.
Freshmen will be considered for admission on the basis of their secondary school record and their English proficiency. Applicants who can prove their English language proficiency and have a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 2.5/4.0 on a U.S. scale will qualify for admission.
