Thriving in today's competitive market demands that companies offer products and services with clear, recognizable benefits for their customers. This certification program leverages expertise from two academic departments to connect sourcing (strategic procurement and supply chain management), production (manufacturing and service operations), and distribution processes (demand fulfillment), emphasizing information technologies as key drivers for supply chain optimization and agility.

The program equips students with frameworks and concepts that contribute to understanding and developing different aspects of value generation. Participants can develop competencies across the entire supply chain spectrum: vendor partnerships, procurement strategies, production and stock control, distribution networks, quality assurance, and digital systems.
The business and information technology department provides more than twelve sought-after, top-ranked graduate certifications in rapidly expanding sectors, featuring the nation's second-ranked big data program. Whether aiming to advance your career or transition fields, our curriculum helps working professionals achieve their objectives. Graduate certificates enable you to expand your expertise in specialized areas and maintain a competitive edge in the current business environment.
For Missouri S&T graduate students, these certificates also serve as formal specializations. You can officially designate a focused study area within your degree program. Certificate coursework may count toward graduate degree requirements, though individual courses cannot apply to multiple certificates.
Our certificate curricula consist of four advanced courses concentrating on specific subject areas within a discipline. Most classes are available both on-campus and online, providing the adaptability and accessibility working professionals require.

Our graduate certificates are open to anyone holding a bachelors, masters or doctoral degree in areas such as business, social sciences, technology, engineering, or related disciplines. You must have the required prerequisites or equivalent experience for each course taken (when required).

You may apply to be admitted only to a graduate certificate program. If admitted, you will have non-degree graduate status but will earn graduate credit for the courses completed. You may also apply to a graduate certificate program if you are already enrolled in a Missouri S&T graduate degree program.

You must maintain an average cumulative grade point of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale in the certificate courses in order to receive your graduate certificate.

There is overlap between the course offerings for the different graduate certificates. No course can be used to satisfy the requirements for more than one certificate.
Admission as a regular graduate student is normally limited to those who ranked in the upper third of their baccalaureate graduating class or who have done quality work at the graduate level. For this requirement, a cumulative B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale), or a B average (3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale) for the student's last sixty credit hours of undergraduate coursework is considered equivalent to an upper one-third standing.
