The Department of Economics at Missouri University of Science and Technology (S&T) emphasizes two key principles across all its programs: a strong industry focus with collaborative partnerships and interdisciplinary learning through a comprehensive curriculum.

At Kummer College's Economics Department, we are committed to delivering an innovative education that equips future leaders and policymakers. Our degree programs maintain an industry-driven approach by involving business leaders in curriculum development, ensuring alignment with current market trends. We also foster partnerships to offer students diverse practical learning experiences.
Economics examines decision-making under resource constraints. This understanding of human behavior significantly influences market results, public policies, and organizational strategies. Consequently, economics graduates enjoy strong employment prospects across multiple sectors, with a bachelor's degree serving as a gateway to numerous career paths. Choosing economics as a major offers versatile career preparation and strong earning potential. An undergraduate economics degree provides the fundamental knowledge needed for advanced studies in economics, business, finance, law, and related disciplines.

Qualification Requirements

Admission is selective and based on a combination of secondary school core curriculum (a set of required secondary school classes), ACT and/or SAT composite scores (if available), grade point average (GPA), and class rank percentile. (For non-ranking schools, GPA will be used to evaluate your application).
International students must fulfill the same admission requirements as domestic applicants, but standardized test scores (ACT or SAT) are not required but should be submitted if available. Meeting the minimum requirements, however, does not guarantee admission, nor does it guarantee admission to a particular program. Missouri S&T appreciates well-rounded students and evaluates each application individually.
Missouri S&T may request that you provide an official transcript evaluation from the World Education Services (WES). If this is required, it will be visible on your application checklist after submission of your application, or an admissions representative will contact you to request it.
Minimum English proficiency test score requirements are 80 for TOEFL, 6.5 for IELTS, 58 for PTE, or 105 for Duolingo. We also accept SAT ERW score minimum of 500.
