The School Counseling program within the Department of Counseling, Higher Education Leadership, Educational Psychology, and Foundations in the College of Education provides master's and educational specialist degrees. Additionally, a doctoral program in Counselor Education and Supervision is available. Master's graduates qualify for Mississippi school counselor licensure, while specialist and doctoral graduates also meet the requirements for Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) certification in Mississippi. The curriculum aligns with the College of Education's Conceptual Framework for General Advanced Program. Both NCATE and CACREP accredit the master's program, while CACREP also accredits the doctoral Counselor Education and Supervision program.
