According to IEEE Standard 610.12, Software Engineering involves implementing a methodical, structured, and measurable process for creating, running, and sustaining software—essentially applying engineering principles to software development. Renowned computer science expert David Parnas has observed that just as chemical engineering combines chemistry science with engineering practices, software engineering should integrate software science with established engineering knowledge. This curriculum addresses the increasing demand for educational pathways that equip students to work on sophisticated, large-scale software systems. The Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering holds accreditation from ABET's Engineering Accreditation Commission, accessible at www.abet.org.
