This program explores atmospheric phenomena and climate change patterns. Graduates of the operational track will fulfill academic prerequisites for careers with the National Weather Service, private meteorological firms, or advanced studies in graduate programs. Those selecting the broadcast specialization can pursue opportunities with the National Weather Service while also qualifying for the American Meteorological Society's prestigious Certified Broadcast Meteorologist credential.
The Professional Meteorology Program (PMP) pathway equips students for advanced academic pursuits or operational forecasting roles. Beyond fundamental meteorology coursework, PMP participants are strongly advised to enroll in higher-level mathematics (including calculus), statistical analysis, coding, Remote Sensing, GIS, and elective courses tailored to their professional aspirations.
