The Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity is an intensive undergraduate program specializing in cyber defense and operations. Tailored for students aiming to address growing digital security risks, this curriculum employs a multidisciplinary framework to equip learners with the expertise to assess, comprehend, and resolve cybersecurity challenges.

The program aligns with the National Security Agency's standards for the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Operations, a designation MSU earned in 2013, as well as the Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education accreditation granted to MSU in 2001.

Graduates will be ready for cybersecurity engineering roles in both government and private sectors, whether in defensive or operational capacities. They'll possess the necessary competencies to transition seamlessly into these positions with minimal additional preparation. Furthermore, the program provides a foundation for advancing to a Master of Science in Computer Science with a cybersecurity focus or a Master of Science in Cyber Security and Operations. MSU stands among a select group of institutions nationwide authorized to deliver this dual-focus degree encompassing both defensive and offensive cybersecurity training, making it particularly distinctive in the southeastern U.S. region.
