The Classics division focuses on examining the civilizations of the ancient Mediterranean, with particular emphasis on the languages, writings, historical accounts, and societies of Greece and Rome in antiquity. As an inherently cross-disciplinary subject, our curriculum allows students to investigate not just classical Greek and Latin tongues but also the historical narratives, artistic creations, archaeological findings, and written works from the expansive Greco-Roman sphere. Consequently, while pursuing your studies, you may enroll in classes from both the Anthropology and Middle Eastern Cultures Department and the Philosophy and Religion Department, alongside those provided by the Classical and Modern Languages and Literatures Department.
