The Department of Computer Studies & Information Technology (CSIT) offers computer-focused courses for students at various skill levels, from foundational to advanced career training. With programs centered on computing basics, software applications, IT systems, and network technologies, CSIT equips learners with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to analyze and address business, networking, and cybersecurity challenges. The department also provides general education classes examining technology's societal and ethical implications. Students can obtain associate degrees by fulfilling certificate requirements and MiraCosta College's general education coursework for an Associate in Science degree (refer to Associate Degrees section).
