The Music Technology program provides courses for students pursuing a certificate or associate degree in music technology, or those aiming to transfer as music majors to four-year universities. Key study areas encompass audio production, media audio, sound reinforcement, and music/media business fundamentals. Students can obtain the associate degree by completing a certificate of achievement along with the general education requirements for an Associate in Arts degree (refer to Associate Degrees). Graduates will gain skills to employ modern technologies for producing broadcast-quality musical presentations within deadlines, collaborate on audio recordings and live sound productions using equipment like mixers, recorders, signal processors, patch bays, and microphones, and select, place, and set up microphones and preamps to effectively capture, store, amplify, and distribute sound.
