The Mathematics Department aims to foster students' comprehension of mathematical concepts. Our curriculum offers mathematics majors comprehensive and specialized studies, equipping graduates for advanced academic pursuits or careers in math-related fields, including education. We also support the broader university community by delivering foundational courses that fulfill mathematics requirements across various disciplines within a well-rounded liberal arts education.
Mathematics majors benefit from dedicated faculty, intimate class settings, individualized support, and flexible career options. Numerous engagement opportunities exist, including participation in the vibrant Math Club and our Pi Mu Epsilon honor society chapter. Students can also gain experience through positions as tutors or assignment evaluators.
With their developed problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, and analytical abilities, mathematics graduates pursue varied career paths. Alumni enter professions ranging from education to business sectors (accounting, actuarial science, data analytics, market research, finance) and research fields (pure mathematics, statistics, computational analysis), or continue their studies at graduate level.
