The Athletic Training Program at Midwestern State University aims to create an engaging educational setting where students can apply athletic training concepts to master hands-on techniques while cultivating both personal growth and professional expertise for aspiring athletic trainers.
Midwestern State University's bachelor's program in Athletic Training chose to discontinue its accreditation with the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) (6850 Austin Center Blvd., Suite 100 Austin, TX 78731-3184) during spring 2020. CAATE approved this voluntary withdrawal on April 27, 2020. The program will continue instruction under CAATE guidelines until August 31, 2023, while still welcoming new enrollees. Graduates who finish the undergraduate athletic training coursework will qualify to take Texas's licensing examination for professional practice within the state.
