The Department of Horticulture provides Master of Science and PhD programs specializing in plant breeding, genetics, biotechnology, and horticulture. Michigan State University's interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Biotechnology (PBGB) allows students to study agronomic, forestry, and horticultural species while selecting from diverse academic courses. Founded in 1981, this program awards both master's and doctoral degrees.
This initiative involves faculty collaboration across MSU's Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Biology, and Plant, Soil and Microbial Sciences departments.
