The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology operates through a collaborative partnership between the colleges of Human Medicine, Osteopathic Medicine, and Veterinary Medicine, with the College of Veterinary Medicine serving as the lead administrative body. These colleges collectively provide a Master of Science in Laboratory Research in Pharmacology and Toxicology, a Ph.D. program in Pharmacology and Toxicology, and a Graduate Certificate in Safety Pharmacology. Additionally, the College of Osteopathic Medicine delivers online Master of Science programs in both Pharmacology and Toxicology and Integrative Pharmacology, along with an online Graduate Certificate in Safety Pharmacology. These graduate programs aim to equip students for careers in research, academia, and related fields. Research focuses span from studying drug and chemical impacts at the molecular level to their effects on human systems, with specialized expertise in areas such as neuropharmacology, cardiovascular pharmacology, cancer research, environmental toxicology, drug development, receptor pharmacology, gastrointestinal studies, and immunopharmacology.
