Our distinguished faculty, recognized for their excellence, specialize in child development, couples and family therapy, and diversity, youth, and family studies. Together with students, they produce impactful research that enhances the well-being of children, teens, families, and underserved populations. Alumni emerge ready for sought-after academic and career opportunities. The MS in Human Development and Family Studies equips students to comprehend evolving family structures and individual growth throughout life stages. Students can concentrate on areas like human development (focusing on adolescence or aging), leadership, policy, or diversity, aligning with their professional aspirations. The program trains graduates to support and champion for families and individuals across various environments, including extension services, community organizations, and policy arenas. Students may choose between a thesis track (Plan A), ideal for those continuing to doctoral programs, or a non-thesis alternative (Plan B).
