The Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) program focuses on unraveling the Earth's ever-changing character—from its formation to the present day. Our research examines planetary transformations across timescales, from split seconds to eons. Through collaboration, we explore how physical, biological, and chemical processes have shaped and continue to influence our planet. This field stands as the ultimate interdisciplinary science among natural sciences. Beyond core geological subjects like seismology, petrology, hydrology, geomicrobiology, paleobiology, geochemistry, mineral physics, tectonics, and cognition, EES students engage with complementary disciplines including biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, and computational sciences. This comprehensive approach offers distinctive insights into challenges like natural resource sustainability, environmental risk management, and humanity's impact on Earth's systems. We aim to equip graduates with the expertise to guide critical decisions about our planet's future.
