Michigan State University's Master of Science in Forensic Science program is a collaborative effort across multiple colleges and departments. The College of Natural Science works with Chemistry, Pharmacology and Toxicology, Statistics and Probability, and Zoology departments, along with the Center for Advanced Microscopy. Meanwhile, the College of Social Science partners with the Department of Anthropology and the School of Criminal Justice, which serves as the program's main administrative hub. This comprehensive curriculum provides students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills across scientific, legal, and investigative forensic science domains, while allowing specialization in key disciplines. Participants must choose either forensic chemistry or forensic anthropology as their concentration area.
Plan A students are required to complete a thesis, and there are possibilities for internships at forensic laboratories either in the United States or internationally.
