These core inquiries drive socially conscious philosophy of science. We examine these issues across diverse disciplines (including biological sciences, environmental studies, medicine, public health, and agriculture) through multiple philosophical lenses (such as the appropriate integration of values in science, the function of models and idealizations, public participation in scientific processes, interdisciplinary team dynamics, and ontological implications). Collaborating with researchers, policymakers, and community members, we investigate both descriptive and normative dimensions crucial to science's societal role. Given science's significant position in modern society, we employ philosophical frameworks to analyze its descriptive and normative (epistemological, ethical, and political) dimensions. Our work investigates scientific foundations, methodological reliability, and democratic engagement while partnering with natural/social scientists, policymakers, and non-academic communities.
