The interdisciplinary doctoral program in Information and Media provides students with rigorous graduate-level education in information and media studies. With faculty expertise spanning advertising, public relations, communication, computer science, economics, human-computer interaction, journalism, management, neuroscience, political science, psychology, science and technology studies, sociology, and design, the program cultivates future scholars and educators to conduct groundbreaking research. Established in 2005, Michigan State University's Game Design and Development Program has rapidly expanded to earn a Princeton Review Top 10 ranking. This diverse program brings together designers, artists, and programmers among both faculty and students. The GEL Lab (Games for Entertainment and Learning Lab) equips students with cutting-edge technology for prototyping, developing techniques, and researching the societal and psychological impacts of digital games.
