Studio art students investigate and produce works through the vocabulary of two- and three-dimensional forms, spatial relationships, and temporal elements across diverse mediums and technologies. These include ceramics, digital arts and intermedia, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Undergraduates can pursue two distinct studio art degree paths. The bachelor of arts in studio art offers a broad liberal arts foundation, while the bachelor of fine arts provides professional preparation for aspiring artists, designers, or those considering advanced studies in these disciplines.
Electronic Art & Intermedia (EAI) represents an innovative, evolving field within the Department of Art, Art History, and Design that examines novel artistic expressions enabled by technological advancements. Rooted in Intermedia's historical principles, EAI offers a structure for deconstructing and merging diverse conceptual approaches while bridging seemingly unrelated fields, fostering fresh avenues for research and creative exploration. This program actively promotes interdisciplinary partnerships among students and faculty, both within and beyond traditional art disciplines.
