Studio art students investigate and produce works through the vocabulary of two- and three-dimensional forms, spatial relationships, and temporal elements across diverse mediums and technologies, such as ceramics, digital arts, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Undergraduate students can pursue two distinct studio art degree paths. The bachelor of arts in studio art offers a broad liberal arts foundation, while the bachelor of fine arts provides professional preparation for those pursuing artistic careers or advanced studies in art and design.
The Printmaking Program offers instruction in multiple print techniques and methodologies, encompassing intaglio, lithography, relief printing, and collagraphy. Students develop technical mastery across these mediums through guided practice. Demonstrations by instructors highlight the distinctive characteristics of each printmaking method, helping students build competence in their creative practice. With small class sizes, the program cultivates a collaborative yet individualized learning environment. Regular critiques and one-on-one evaluations promote dialogue and the sharing of perspectives. The program aims to support students in crafting unique visual expressions while refining their technical skills.
