The Diplomacy and Global Politics program immerses students in the study of international relations, diplomatic practices, and comparative government systems. This major offers insights into national and international security strategies, global economic connections, and diverse cultural perspectives. Students examine complex challenges that transcend national borders through our comprehensive curriculum. Our department consistently delivers courses addressing fundamental political science topics, including: American governance (covering constitutional law, executive leadership, legislative processes, political parties, and voter behavior), International Affairs (encompassing global relations, international legal frameworks, diplomatic strategies), Regional Political Systems (analyzing governmental structures across continents like Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, Africa, and Asia), Political Theory, and Public Sector Management.
We equip graduates for diverse pathways, whether pursuing advanced degrees or entering professional fields, while fostering engaged citizenship. Program graduates frequently enroll in prestigious graduate programs or secure positions across multiple sectors - including corporate environments, diplomatic corps, military service, all levels of government, law enforcement, advocacy groups, and non-governmental organizations. Notable alumni hold influential positions in legislative bodies, presidential administrations, and diplomatic missions worldwide. Others have achieved distinction in academia, serving as university presidents, academic deans, and department leaders in political science.
