MIT's PhD program in operations research (OR) equips you with deep theoretical knowledge while training you to create and implement OR techniques in real-world scenarios.
Students can pursue a general degree path or select from three specialized tracks: operations management, networked systems, and analytics. While all doctoral candidates must meet the core requirements, those opting for a specialized track will need to complete additional discipline-specific coursework.
To be admitted as a regular graduate student, an applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing. Students in their final year of undergraduate study may be admitted on the condition that their bachelor’s degree is awarded before they enroll at MIT.
