The Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences attracts some of the brightest and most creative graduate students in neuroscience worldwide. Each year, only 5-10% of applicants gain admission to our PhD program, which maintains its position as one of the globe's top-ranked programs. These dedicated scholars earn their place through rigorous effort and are deeply appreciated members of the BCS community.
To be admitted as a regular graduate student, an applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a college, university, or technical school of acceptable standing. Students in their final year of undergraduate study may be admitted on the condition that their bachelor’s degree is awarded before they enroll at MIT.
