The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MechE) provides three undergraduate degree options. The first is the conventional mechanical engineering bachelor's program, offering comprehensive preparation for diverse career paths within the field. The second option awards a bachelor's in engineering, designed for students needing more flexibility to combine core mechanical engineering studies with complementary disciplines. The third program focuses on mechanical and ocean engineering, providing structured curriculum for those interested in applying mechanical engineering principles to ocean science, exploration, resource utilization, and marine transportation.
The mechanical engineering curriculum establishes a solid intellectual base in the discipline. It builds fundamental engineering knowledge, incorporates multiple practical applications, and introduces essential engineering methodologies and professional practices.
The first-year application is intended for students who have concluded their secondary education and wish to pursue a bachelor’s degree as a full-time university student.
