The History, Theory and Criticism of Architecture and Art (HTC) program explores the evolution of architecture, art, and design, with particular focus on historical analysis and methodological approaches. Courses examine the societal and spatial dimensions of constructed spaces, contemporary disciplinary debates, and the philosophical, political, and material foundations of artistic and architectural works. Instruction spans from Renaissance periods to modern times, concentrating on modern movements in art and architecture. Studies engage with both conceptual and tangible materials, addressing diverse scales from architectural sketches to urban landscapes and art installations. Special attention is given to modern European and American art and architecture, alongside complementary coursework on Islamic traditions developed by AKPIA and integrated into the HTC curriculum.
