The Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy programs aim to equip graduate students with comprehensive foundational knowledge and cutting-edge insights into modern and emerging technologies. Students can choose between full-time or part-time enrollment. Doctoral candidates and thesis-focused Master's students (Plan A) conduct research under faculty guidance, developing into autonomous researchers. Their work frequently receives funding from government and industry sources. The department's advanced labs and computing resources play a vital role in coursework and research initiatives. Alumni pursue careers across industries, government agencies, academic institutions, and research facilities. The Civil, Construction and Environmental Engineering Department houses specialized labs for hydraulics, environmental studies, materials science (including soil analysis), structural testing, and computational research. Key facilities include the Water Quality Center and the Engineering Materials/Structural Testing Laboratory. The department offers concentrations in: Construction Engineering, Environmental/Water Resources Engineering, Structural Engineering/Mechanics, Transportation Engineering, and Materials Science.
