Accounting experts play crucial roles as key leaders within business organizations. The Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) equips you with specialized skills to pursue CPA certification and prepares you for careers at professional service firms or prominent corporations. Graduate assistant roles are available to collaborate with accounting faculty. MSA graduates pursue diverse career paths including public accounting (audit or tax), internal auditing, corporate financial roles (financial reporting or management accounting), investment banking, government/nonprofit sectors, and doctoral programs. The curriculum includes collaborative coursework with MBA professionals, covering advanced corporate and nonprofit financial accounting, fraud investigation techniques, specialized auditing subjects, and corporate taxation. The program fulfills the 150-hour CPA exam requirement for most states. Designed as a one-year intensive program (summer through spring), the MSA primarily serves students with undergraduate accounting degrees from accredited U.S. institutions.
