You're in good company. Undecided is actually our most common declared major. However, we've discovered that very few students are genuinely uncertain about their path. The majority come with multiple passions and academic interests they want to explore. That's why we like to use the term "multi-interested." With over 80 majors and 79 minors available at Marquette, we'll guide you in selecting academic paths that align with your talents and aspirations. A liberal arts education here won't just equip you for a rewarding career—it will help shape a life of meaning. As a Marquette freshman, you'll join one of our seven undergraduate colleges right away. This direct admission offers significant advantages whether you're certain about your path or still exploring possibilities. Starting major-specific courses in your first year allows you to sample diverse offerings, understand your college better, refine your academic focus, and uncover your true strengths. We actively encourage students to begin as undecided in any of our colleges—it's perfectly normal to test different options before committing to a specific program. Marquette provides numerous entry points through introductory classes, first-year seminars, and hands-on lab experiences that serve dual purposes: meeting core curriculum requirements while helping you navigate your long-term academic journey.
