Marquette's classics program guides students through an intensive curriculum exploring the ancient Greek and Roman worlds via language studies, artistic works, philosophical texts, political systems, and historical accounts. The program features a major with three specialization tracks: Classical Languages (Latin and Greek) Classical Languages for Education Majors Classical Studies (examining Greek/Roman civilizations, philosophy, and language studies) Alumni emerge equipped for advanced studies and careers in diverse fields including theology, law, education, journalism, public service, and classical scholarship. The program cultivates essential abilities like critical thinking, meticulous attention to detail, and deep historical-philosophical understanding that prove beneficial across numerous professions. Additionally, students can pursue minors in either classical languages or classical studies.
