Madonna University's Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) program, specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorders, provides educators and future teachers with advanced training to effectively assist students with ASD.
The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with real-world application. Students explore essential topics including assessment methods, curriculum design, and specialized teaching approaches for ASD learners. Practical experience is emphasized through supervised field placements in schools and community organizations.
Completion requires 41 credit hours minimum. Applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited college and a current teaching certification for admission.
Admission to the MAT program in autism spectrum disorders is determined on the basis of the following criteria:
Possession of a bachelor degree from a regionally accredited institution, with an undergraduate grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. (An average below 3.0 will be reviewed for conditional admission.)
Internet based TOEFL (iBT, Test of English as a Foreign Language) with a minimum score of 80; or
TOEFL paper-and-pencil test with a minimum score of 550, accompanied by the Test of Written English (TWE) with a minimum score of 5; or
IELTS score of 6.5+; or
PTE Academic score of 53
