Upon completing the certification program, graduates will demonstrate the ability to: Execute fundamental forensic laboratory procedures and analyses, encompassing evidence collection, identification, classification, and examination for criminal cases, along with conducting tests on weapons or materials like fibers, hairs, and tissues to assess their investigative relevance. Explain the characteristics of substances frequently encountered in forensic labs, their chemical reactions and changes, including proper handling, hazard indicators, and disposal protocols. Apply understanding of legal statutes, judicial processes, regulatory frameworks, and governmental policies to competently fulfill the responsibilities of a forensic laboratory technician.
