This program prepares students to inspire individuals across all age groups, abilities, and backgrounds to improve their physical, mental, and social well-being. With health-related behavioral costs skyrocketing in recent years, fitness education has become increasingly essential. The curriculum aligns with various minor programs at Madonna University, focusing on the crucial yet often overlooked domain of physical fitness - a key factor in improving quality of life and addressing societal health needs. Coursework covers personal training techniques, coaching fundamentals, health and disease prevention, exercise and weight management, aging processes, strength and cardiovascular conditioning, along with the psychological dimensions of fitness and nutrition. Participants will gain hands-on experience through diverse athletic training exercises while mastering CPR/first aid and sports medicine basics. The program includes internship opportunities with local organizations to advance community health initiatives. Graduates will emerge with thorough knowledge about establishing and sustaining personal fitness throughout one's lifespan.
