The Sculpture & Ceramics program at Loyola University Chicago examines the dynamic relationship between Art, Craft & Design, highlighting the significant role three-dimensional art plays in material culture. With roots in tradition and embracing modern approaches, the curriculum includes 3D Design, Ceramics, Sculpture, and Jewelry courses that explore diverse methodologies (conceptual, theoretical, and hands-on). Located in the Ralph Arnold Fine Arts Annex on the Lakeshore Campus, the program boasts newly updated studios for 3D Design, Sculpture, Ceramics, & Jewelry. This major cultivates specialized skills applicable to various professional directions. Graduates may pursue advanced studies or carve out unique artistic careers through focused creation, marketing, and partnerships. The acquired skills also benefit those entering applied arts fields (interior architecture, product design, advertising & PR, theater & film, museums & galleries—covering exhibition design, props, sets, special effects, etc.).
