Loyola's Vocal Performance Concentration provides an intensive, conservatory-style education within a liberal arts framework. The program cultivates singers' artistic growth, intellectual development, and community engagement while focusing on teaching methods, performance skills, and ensemble work. Exceptional vocal talent is fostered at all levels, alongside holistic personal development in the liberal arts tradition. Beyond fundamental music coursework, students explore diction, vocal literature, teaching techniques, private coaching, and choral performance. Performance options include solo roles in oratorios, musical theater productions, opera excerpts, and various other showcases. Senior Vocal Performance majors must complete a comprehensive recital as a graduation requirement.
