Loyola's Master of Science in Legal Studies (MLS) with a Business Law concentration equips current and future managers with essential legal expertise for addressing compliance issues, solving problems, and evaluating organizational risks. Graduates gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in core corporate law areas such as business structures, M&A transactions, and securities laws. The program includes hands-on experience drafting documents and navigating the complete funding process for a mock startup venture.
This Business Law track enables law students to make immediate contributions in corporate environments. Participants develop skills to analyze legal documents, provide client recommendations, draft standard entrepreneurial agreements, and convert business terminology into precise contractual terms. The 24-credit MLS degree includes a Business Law Specialization earned by completing 15 credits beyond the foundational Law & Process/Legal Methods course. This consists of 9 mandatory credits and 6 elective credits.
