Visual communication and graphic design influence how we perceive and interpret the world by shaping the objects, messages, and spaces that define our daily lives. Using typography, imagery, and visual narratives, designers bring societal issues to light while proposing creative solutions capable of driving change at local, national, and international levels.

At LMU, we nurture designers who investigate and address the most urgent global challenges. We maintain that graphic design's true power extends well beyond its traditional role in consumer culture. With design's pervasive presence and unprecedented capacity to reshape our world comes an equally significant opportunity to enhance human experiences. LMU's graphic design program emphasizes empathy, advancing social equity and fostering meaningful change through dialogue, community engagement, and innovative initiatives.
