This comprehensive program delves into the diverse range of objects classified as theatrical properties, exploring various fabrication methods and materials. The curriculum aims to cultivate expertise in woodcraft, metalwork, papier-mâché, mold creation & casting, foam sculpting, furniture upholstery, textile work, and production management. Supplementary coursework covers scenic and costume design, theatrical painting techniques, computer-aided design, and dramatic literature analysis. Participants will gain hands-on experience through production roles in LSU Mainstage and Swine Palace performances. Qualified candidates may access teaching, design, and leadership opportunities.

Qualification Requirements

A conferred baccalaureate (or equivalent) from a regionally accredited college or university by the expected date of entry into the graduate program. The Graduate School requires a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 GPA scale or in the last 60 credit hours in the previous undergraduate or graduate coursework.
