The Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum and Instruction with an English Education focus enhances certified teachers' expertise. This program aligns with standards established by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) at both national and state levels. Participants will engage in core studies that broaden their understanding and skills, keeping them at the cutting edge of their profession. Through collaboration with fellow students and faculty, they'll explore curriculum development, research methodologies, educational technology integration, and humanistic/behavioral studies emphasizing diversity and multicultural classroom approaches. As a culminating requirement, students must choose between completing a 6-credit thesis, a 3-credit action research project, or a comprehensive written exam during their final term. These options ensure practical application of knowledge gained throughout the degree program.
