Our Counselor Education program offers a 60-credit master's degree with two specialization tracks: School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. This site serves as an informational hub for both prospective and enrolled students to learn about our program and access relevant resources. The LSU Counselor Education curriculum trains future professionals to work in diverse settings including educational institutions, university counseling centers, mental health facilities, and private practices. We equip students to address mental health challenges across Louisiana and beyond, ensuring they develop expertise aligned with industry standards and professional best practices. Program graduates apply their training to assist individuals, partners, and families from various backgrounds in improving life adaptation, supporting personal development, advancing social equity, and building lifelong coping strategies.
